Alison grew up in Northern Massachusetts and received her BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She also spent time studying fine art in the Netherlands, art history in China and bio-art in Puerto Rico. These trips have greatly impacted her mentality as an artist. Moving between physical landscapes and cultures often feels like time travel. The gap between reality and fiction is hence distorted. Blurry becomes the boundary between the direct and theatrical, normal and bizarre, modern and nostalgic. Imagery forms from observations, studies, memories and dreams. Alison's work seeks to engage viewers through form and color whilst encouraging them to consider their material interaction and relationship with the modern environment.
Alison currently lives and works in New York.
